Sibel Sagner

Education Manager for BEILS Turkey

Sibel Sagner completed her studies at Marmara University within the Department of Foreign Languages. Subsequently she obtained her master’s degree in “Applied Linguistics” at Macquarie University, in Australia. She began her career at a private university, where she held academic and administrative positions for 12 years. She then worked for the Istanbul Office of The British Council and was responsible for constructing their extensive teacher training programs. In addition to the domestic and international seminars she gave, she prepared and implemented ETTO, a computer-based teacher training program she initiated at The British Council, and it was applied for the seminars she held for teachers coming from England, Thailand, Turkey, India, and Armenia. She then worked as the Academic Director, Head of Department and Educational Consultant within many public and private schools’ sectors as well as other corporate educational institutions. She also did editorial work for Cambridge University Press. She introduced Joint-TESOL programs, which are certified by Trinity College London and worked as the Academic Coordinator of the program. In addition to being the coordinator of this program, she conducted the first Webinar for English Teachers in Turkey and started working on giving seminars on the worldwide web. She also instigated her “Critical Thinking and Taxonomy” practices in many schools around Turkey. An international author, Sibel Sagner has written many stories for the Cambridge University Press. Adventure Series. She is currently working as the Education Manager of Burlington English International Language Courses in Turkey.
