Soner Yıldırım received his bachelor`s degree in Curriculum & Instruction at Hacettepe University in 1990. Respectively, he earned his master`s degree in Instructional Technology in Michigan State University in 1993, and his PhD at the University of Southern California in 1997. He has been working as an instructor at the Department of Education at Middle East Technical University since 1998. Prof. Soner Yıldırım has been an international expert in instructional technology projects in various international foundations. He was involved with the World Bank in 1988, with the European Council in Strasbourg between 2002-2006, and he has been taking part in various projects of the European Union Education Foundation since 2004. His research interest mainly focuses on Social Media Usage in Education, Electronic Performance Support Systems, Social Network Analysis and Nomophobia.
