Moore”s law dictates that every two years the processing capability of computers doubles. This has unleashed technological capabilities for education in general and language testing in particular. Oxford University Press has capitalized on computer technology in various aspects for language testing, from test design to results verification. In this session we will cover test question development, test question validation, computer-adaptive testing, and the quality assurance of human marking, using the Oxford Test of English and Oxford Placement Test to illustrate these areas.
