Education authorities in different countries are in a constant search and effort to make the professional development of teachers effective. Basically, we can say that this effort is handled in two main points. 1) How should education be given? 2) What should be the content of the training? There are various applications about how to give training; conference, seminar and workshop are among the general examples. The content of the training, from design to measurement; The method can be in a wide range from technical to personal development. In these two questions, certain principles should be addressed for effective teacher education; 1) sustainable, 2) content-based, 3) applicable, 4) supporting professional development, and 5) traceable. The most important factor about what and how the content of the education will be, is that it is oriented to the needs of teachers. In this workshop, the question of what and how in the process of professional development will be addressed within the framework of the UbD, based on the experiences of teachers.
